On the Watch: A Different Kind of Tech Site

We all know that tech is moving fast, but if we’re being honest, it’s also starting to look the same. Every phone launch takes us into the next, every press release sounds like the last. So we wanted to do something different - something slower, more deliberate, and grounded (this one’s important).

On the Watch is a site about technology, but more importantly, it’s about the kind of tech that’s worth paying attention to. We cover everything from phones and headphones to cameras and laptops - but we have a soft spot for watches. Digital or mechanical, smart or quartz - if it ticks (or syncs), and it’s interesting, we’re probably writing about it.

We’re not here to chase hype. There are plenty of places that do that already. Instead, we’re focusing on context, design, usefulness, and the stuff that doesn’t always make it into spec sheets. Expect a mix of news, opinions, deep dives, and the occasional rabbit hole. We’re not trying to write like machines, and we’re definitely not writing for them either.

What matters to us is whether something feels well-thought-out. Whether it’s priced fairly, built to last, or brings something new to the table. Sometimes that’s an indestructible G-Shock. Sometimes it’s a phone that just does the basics right. We care about details, but not just for the sake of them.

We’re just getting started, but we’ve got a lot planned - especially for watch lovers and techheads who’ve felt a bit left out of the mainstream cycle. This is where we’ll be telling those stories.
